Walking for tigers in 2022

Last week's International Tiger Day was a huge success once again. This year marked the first year back for our Walk for Tigers event - at least in physical form. During the two pandemic years, out of necessity, this walk moved to a virtual format, but this year it was back.

While we didn't have such a big turnout this year, our intrepid walkers still managed to raise well over £1000 between them which is an incredible achievement. We also upped the ante this year and didn't just have one Walk for Tigers event, but two!

Our usual UK-based event went ahead as normal. This involved a 9 mile walk from Lion Yard in Cambridge out to Shepreth Wildlife Park. The second walk was held in Thailand, and this one took place in Lumpini Park, Bangkok where the walkers there covered 5 km in pretty humid conditions!

We want to give a massive shoutout all round to all those who took part in this event. We're currently 40% of the way to the project total we need to get started. And, we're still taking any donations toward this project right here.

We've also had some stunning tote bags designed by a local Thai artist, and these are now available to preorder. Simply drop us an email at donate@fortigers.org and we will get your orders shipped out once these are available!

Huge thanks to everyone who has supported this project. We are hoping to have the full funds by the end of September and then the project can get underway right before Christmas!

Stay tuned for all the updates!
